Brittany McCullough is an operations and organizational strategy leader with more than 15 years of experience helping education-focused nonprofits grow, scale, and navigate complex organizational change. She is known for building systems, structures, and processes that strengthen organizational effectiveness, support sustainable growth, and enable mission-driven teams to maximize their impact. Brittany believes that strong operations is a critical component to building strong organizations and schools.
As Chief Operating Officer at FullScale (formerly The Learning Accelerator and Aurora Institute), Brittany leads the organization’s finance, talent, human resources, operational strategy, convening operations strategy, and long-term organizational planning efforts. Previously, she also led the organization's development operations and communications teams. During her tenure, Brittany partnered with the Co-CEOs and the Board to lead the successful merger of The Learning Accelerator and The Aurora Institute, guiding the organizations through due diligence, operational integration, strategic planning, and change management to form FullScale. Brittany also oversees organization-wide financial management, talent operations, strategic planning, legal oversight, and the execution of FullScale’s flagship national symposium, serving more than 1,000 attendees across the country.
Prior to FullScale, Brittany served as Managing Director of Growth & Operations at Educators for Excellence, where she led fundraising operations, revenue forecasting, CRM implementation, and operations for all organizational growth initiatives. She previously served as Director of Operations at Instruction Partners, where she led nationwide operational strategy and managed the scaling of major cross-district programming across multiple states.
Earlier in her career, Brittany served as the Founding Director of Operations at Purpose Preparatory Academy in Nashville, where she built and led the school’s operational infrastructure. The school is recognized as a Tennessee Reward School and ranked among the top-performing schools in the state. The systems and procedures Brittany created continue to be the foundation of the school's operations model which is considered to be a key component of the schools academic success.
In addition to her executive leadership work, Brittany serves as a Board Member and Treasurer for Encompass Community School, a public charter school committed to a mastery-based, learner-centered approach that empowers every learner to excel academically and thrive personally. In this role, she supports the school’s financial stewardship, governance, and long-term strategic sustainability while advancing its mission to create an inclusive educational environment that intentionally removes systemic barriers for learners and families across the Nashville, TN communities.
Brittany is also a member of Education Leaders of Color (EdLoC), a national network of leaders committed to advancing systemic change and expanding opportunity for communities of color through cross-sector collaboration spanning education, economic advancement, healthcare, immigration, and civic leadership.
Throughout her career, Brittany has led complex operational and strategic initiatives across nonprofit education organizations, including multi-state program expansion, organizational growth strategy, fundraising operations, executive planning, large-scale event management, and people systems development. She brings deep expertise in operational leadership, cross-functional project management, financial management, organizational design, and building sustainable scalable systems that help organizations adapt and grow.
Brittany holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Belmont University and an MBA from Trevecca Nazarene University. She remains deeply committed to the belief that strong operations, thoughtful leadership, and sustainable organizational systems are critical drivers of educational equity and long-term impact.
